What you get when you have an AI script and storyboard created

A strong result doesn’t start with random prompts, but with a clear briefing. That’s why we first translate your goal, target audience, and message into a logical structure. We then use AI strategically to quickly generate variations, scenes, and visual directions. Our creatives then make the necessary choices to ensure everything is memorable, understandable, and producible.

  • Script development based on the objective, target audience, and message
  • Development of tone of voice and narrative
  • Storyboard with clear frames, scenes, and camera angles
  • Guidelines for timing, shot composition, and text per shot
  • Optional follow-up to storyboards, animatics, and production

When it’s worth having an AI create a storyboard and script

This approach is particularly well-suited if you want to combine speed with creative control. Think of organizations that want to develop a new animated video but are still looking for the best approach. Or teams that already have a lot of content but still need to translate it into a compelling story and a visual structure.

We often see this question arise in the context of explanatory animations, product videos, e-learning, social media content, internal communications, and training videos. An AI-supported script and storyboard process is also of interest to sectors such as high-tech, healthcare, finance, and retail, as complex information in these fields often needs to be explained in a concise and compelling manner.

  • Script development based on the objective, target audience, and message
  • Development of tone of voice and narrative
  • Storyboard with clear frames, scenes, and camera angles
  • Guidelines for timing, shot composition, and text per shot
  • Optional follow-up to storyboards, animatics, and production
  • The key message for each scene
  • Voice-over or spoken text
  • Image description for each shot or frame
  • Camera angle or composition, where applicable
  • Transitions and Pacing in the Story
  • Opportunity for feedback before production begins
  • Have an AI explanation video created
  • Script and storyboard for an animated video
  • Visual concept for a product video or demo
  • E-learning, onboarding, and safety training
  • Internal communication and change communication
  • Social video concepts and short-form campaigns

Here's how our process works

1. Intake and goal setting

Let’s start with the content. What do you want to communicate, to whom, through which channel, and with what outcome? This forms the foundation for all the decisions that follow. Without this step, AI-generated output often remains too generic or disconnected from your brand. Want to get started in a structured way? Use our AI animation briefing template.

2. Concept and script

Based on the briefing, we develop a concept and script. AI helps us do this by quickly exploring different tone-of-voice variations, angles, and initial text structures. Our writers and strategists then edit and refine this into a script that flows logically, sounds natural, and resonates with your target audience.

3. Storyboard Development

Next, we translate the script into a storyboard. In it, we visualize what happens in each scene, what information is shown, which camera angles make sense, and how the story builds rhythmically. This makes it clear early on whether the text and visuals reinforce each other. Read more here: What is a storyboard?

4. Visual Direction and Style Exploration

Where appropriate, we use AI to quickly generate mood boards, style variations, and visual explorations. This allows you to narrow down your options more quickly without immediately committing to a full design process. Our designers make the final decisions to ensure the style truly aligns with your brand and the final production.

5. Feedback and Implementation

After receiving feedback, we refine the script and storyboard. From there, we can move on to style frames, an animatic, and the full 2D or 3D animation. This keeps the process organized and allows you to build, step by step, toward a final product that is both substantively and visually sound.

Why not just use an AI storyboard generator?

Many tools can quickly produce a rough draft, but they lack context. They often don’t fully grasp what your target audience should feel, what nuances the message requires, or how a scene should translate into animation or editing in terms of both technique and content. As a result, you often end up with output that looks decent but isn’t yet ready for production.

Our hybrid approach prevents that from happening. We use AI where it speeds up the process—for example, in concept development, style exploration, or generating variations. People then make the substantive and creative decisions. This ensures that the output remains usable, consistent with the brand, and tailored to commercial use.

What a good storyboard and script should include

A useful storyboard is more than just a series of individual images. It should support the script while also clarifying how the video will work in terms of timing and visual direction. That’s why we focus on the elements that are truly necessary for effective evaluation and production.

  • The key message for each scene
  • Voice-over or spoken text
  • Image description for each shot or frame
  • Camera angle or composition, where applicable
  • Transitions and Pacing in the Story
  • Opportunity for feedback before production begins
  • AI accelerates concept development, style exploration, and variation creation
  • Human oversight ensures brand alignment, consistency, and quality
  • Scripts and storyboards are developed to a production-ready stage
  • Complex information is presented clearly and visually
  • The process can proceed smoothly to the animatic and production stages

Have an AI script created while maintaining your brand and tone of voice

One of the biggest advantages of AI is speed, but quality control is essential, especially when it comes to scripts. A text can be grammatically correct yet still feel too generic, too formal, or, conversely, too flat. That’s why we don’t use AI as a final editor, but as a catalyst within the creative process.

This means we pay attention to tone, word choice, structure, and clarity. When writing for a technical audience, the content must be accurate without unnecessary jargon. When writing for onboarding or internal communication, the text must be clear, relatable, and immediately actionable. This way, you’re not just creating an AI script, but writing a script for an animated video that truly works in both visuals and audio.

From script to storyboard to animatic

For many productions, a storyboard is an intermediate step, not the end goal. Once the script and scenes are finalized, an animatic can be invaluable (see: What is an animatic?). This allows you to add timing, rhythm, and sometimes even audio, giving you a better sense of how the final video will flow. This prevents discussions later in the process and helps secure approval for the content and flow more quickly.

Since Animation Agency handles the subsequent steps Animation Agency , the script, storyboard, and animatic flow seamlessly together. This means you don’t have to re-brief the team or bring in a new party to familiarize them with an earlier concept phase.
