Length, pacing and script density
Two minutes does not automatically mean twice the price of one minute. Style and assets can often be reused, making the second minute relatively cheaper. However, the faster the pace and the more information per scene, the more animation hours per minute are required. A compact script with a clear core message and logical storyline keeps the cost of the extra seconds down. See also 2-minute Explanatory Animation for examples and package choices.
Process, feedback and lead time
A typical production proceeds through briefing and goal-setting, script and voice-over, storyboard and style frames, animation and sound design, and finally delivery in the appropriate formats. Usually 2-3 rounds of feedback are included. To avoid overruns, it is smart to coordinate intensively in the early stages. Major changes after the animation phase are the most expensive. When planning, allow 3 to 6 weeks lead time for 2 minutes, depending on style and availability of inputs such as logos, corporate identity and any CAD or product files. Our Methodology and turnaround time explain each step and the impact on price and lead time.
Smart saving without loss of quality
- Make choices in scenes - Focus on the 3 most important messages and bundle supporting details into one overview shot.
- Reuse assets - Work with a modular design so that icons and characters recur across multiple scenes and versions.
- Optimize your script - Write concisely and concretely, avoid sidetracks. Less text is often better animation.
- Provide good input - Corporate identity guide, vector logos, product references and sample videos save iterations.
- Plan realistically - Avoid rush rates by starting on time, especially with multilingualism or complex approval rounds.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cost of animation in general?
For corporate animations, many projects are between 3,500 and 14,000 euros for 2 minutes, depending on style and complexity. 2D motion graphics is most cost-effective, 3D and stop-motion are more expensive due to modeling or handwork. A tight briefing and storyboard keep the price predictable.
How much does an animator cost on average?
Hourly rates range from about 60 to 120 euros, depending on experience, specialty and technique. However, a complete project includes more than just animation, such as concept, script, storyboard, audio and project management. Therefore, you should prefer a fixed project price with a clear scope and included services.
How much does a logo animation cost?
A simple logo animation often starts around 300 to 800 euros. With custom sound design and multiple variants for social and app intros, this can go up to 1,500 to 3,000 euros. For broadcast campaigns or large events, licenses and additional formats can raise the price further.
How long can an animation be?
It depends on purpose and channel. On social, 15 to 60 seconds works well; on a website or trade show, 60 to 120 seconds is common. For complex propositions, 2 minutes is fine, provided the pace and structure hold attention. Let content, not time, determine length.
